DYNAMIC CODES AND LINKS

Short links

A link you can share anywhere, change later and measure. Each one comes with its own QR code.

Open Links in the sidebar. A short link, such as qrrd.in/a8K92x, sends people to an address you choose and counts who arrives. Use it in a text message, an email, a social post or a printed flyer.

Make a short link

Enter Where it goes and choose Create link. Above the row, choose the link's ending:

  • Generated (the default): we make a 6-character ending, which keeps the link's QR code at its smallest size. Every plan can use one.
  • Custom: type your own Custom ending, such as qrrd.in/spring-menu. The screen shows your plan's shortest length and checks the ending is free as you type. A custom ending can't be changed after, so check the spelling. Custom endings start on Lite; on Free, the link gets a generated ending.

Each short link counts toward your plan's dynamic allowance, the same one your dynamic QR codes use: 5 on Free, 200 on Pro. Archive a link you no longer need to free its place. Existing links keep working at the limit.

If you have custom domains, pick one in place of qrrd.in on the same row.

Choose More options to give the link a name, a note, a folder or a campaign. A link in a campaign takes the campaign's tracking tags; you can change them on the link's own page.

Scans and clicks

Each short link has its own QR code, so the list counts two things:

  • Scans are arrivals through the link's own QR code.
  • Clicks are every other arrival: someone tapping the link in a message, an email or a post.

A code downloaded before the link had its own QR code points at the shared link, so its scans count as clicks.

Manage your links

  • Search and filter by status, campaign, folder and domain.
  • Sort by newest, oldest, name or most scans.
  • Export CSV or Export JSON for the list you're looking at.
  • Open a link to change its destination, see its history or open its analytics.

Changing a link's destination works the same way as for a dynamic code: see Changing where a code goes.

Many links at once

Choose Create in bulk to make a short link for every row of a spreadsheet. See Bulk create from a spreadsheet.
