MANAGING CODES

Folders

Where a code lives. Each code is in one folder, or none, and the library opens on one folder at a time.

In the Library, choose Manage folders in the side panel to make, rename, merge and delete folders. Filing codes into a folder happens in the library; this screen looks after the folders themselves.

Make a folder

Choose New folder, give it a name, and optionally an icon and a colour. The icons describe what a folder holds: a location or branch, retail, food and drink, an event, a product or packaging, a campaign, a client, and more. The preview shows how the folder will look before you choose Create.

File your codes

The top of the screen says how many codes are in no folder. Choose File them to open the library on those codes, then move them into a folder from there. Filing keeps the library short, because it opens on one folder at a time.

Each folder card shows what it holds, in QR codes and barcodes, and when it was last used. Choose a card to open the library on that folder.

Sort and find

Search by folder name, and sort by Name, Most codes or Recently used.

Rename, merge, empty or delete

Each card's menu offers:

  • Rename: change the name, icon or colour.
  • Merge into…: move everything from this folder into another one. You need at least two folders.
  • Empty folder: unfile every code in it and keep the folder. Nothing is deleted.
  • Delete: remove the folder.

Select several cards to delete them together.

Deleting a folder never deletes a code. The codes in it are unfiled and keep resolving.

Folders and tags

A folder says where a code lives; a code is in one folder at most. A tag says what a code is about, and a code can carry several. See Tags.

Folders organise; they don't measure. To compare how groups of codes perform, use Campaigns.
